Taylor scores!

Taylor Felt is the oldest son of Kathy and Chas, and he is my third oldest grandson. I love watching him play soccer. So I am adding this opportunity for you to watch him play. Copy this address and paste it in your browser and you can watch him too!

He makes a great goal at the end of the video, so watch it all the way...ok!

Matt and Toni and their cute kids

Now isn't this wonderful!!! I'm hoping this will inspire others to send pictures. Actually I am going to add a link to a You Tube video of Taylor, Kathy and Chas' oldest son. As you watch the video, Taylor is the scorer at the end of the clip.

Brianna's dance

Brianna, send us pictures and a letter of how things went for this concert. I wish we could have been there! I'm sure you were exquisite.

My Sweetheart - A letter from Frank to Helen

Walkermine, California Sept 14, 1935 My Sweetheart, Here comes another of my scribbling masterpieces. I sure wish I could write letters, but it just don't seem to be in me. I am still working and I like my job fine. Let's hope I can keep this one. I am working for a real nice fellow. He seems to like me. So maybe I will get along alright this time. I am supposed to be working in the mine, but I only worked in there one night. The boss has had me outside on the dump. The moon sure is pretty, (and lonely). Every time I look at it I can see you, but I can't touch you. I have three of your pictures before me now. Sure a damn cute kid. We got our bags from Salt Lake yesterday. They have been down at Spring Garden for two weeks. ( a little town 9 miles from here) They didn't have sense enough to send them up to us. I was sure getting worried because your big picture was in my suitcase. But I have it now so everything is alright. Why did you send me those pictures of myself. Did you want me to burn them up or send them back. You know that is one of the first signs you are beginning to weaken when you start giving pictures back. I hope all the fellows around here are not right. They said if I didn't get back to you I would lose you. Well I am hoping and praying that I don't, because you mean everything to me. Write often and be careful. God Bless You and keep you (for me). I'll always love you, Charlie (I guess he sometimes went by his first name) Where should I write your letters to.

Future Postings

It is difficult to know what to put on this site. As you can tell I don't have much of a plan. Whatever appeals to me at the moment I guess is my modus operandi. Do any of you have a blog, besides Juli that I could link to? I will keep posting, and hope that some or all of you are interested in what piques my interest on the day I have time to post.

More History

Frank Taylor graduated from Tintic High School the 20th of May 1932. I'm going to try and attach a copy of his invitation and diploma. The hobo trip journal and postcards were written in 1931 the summer before his senior year. So he graduated and then he and Jake went on another trip. I only have one postcard saved from that trip. Salt Lake City, Utah May 26, 1931 (just a few days after graduation) Dear Helen, Well, I haven't spent your dime yet and we are still going strong. We didn't eat breakfast this morning but I thought of you anyway. We have eaten once today but we are going in quest of more very shortly. Well tell e verybody hello for me and two for yourself. I guess we won't be home for about a month. Goodby--Jake and Frank The two hobos must have done it again the next summer, because there is a card from Denver dated July 7, 1933 (a day before Frank's 19th birthday) Dear Helen, I'm just taking this opportunity to say hello and wonder if you're still O.K. I hope you're still the same as you was when I saw you last. (whenever that was) We're over here in a nice warm spot in Colorado and it's raining like nobody's business. We starting home tonight so I may be seeing you next week sometime. Well I'll say goodby until later. Love, Jake

Hall Family Reunion

I tried to get Tom and Mary K. to stay in Laguna Beach, but they didn't. Perhaps they sensed that the Hall Family would descend upon them. We did spend 3 wonderful days at the beach in June. All the family were there except Jon's son Tyler and Tyler's little son Michael. It was fun, exciting, hot, exhausting, terrific, fantastic!
